The On-Line Biology Book, by  M.J. Farabee of Estrella Mountain Community College, is a well-illustrated Freshman Biology textbook on the web.  A possible disadvantage is the time it takes for all off the images to download.

Kimball's Biology Pages is an excellent introduction to many topics covered in this course
