Student Lab Safety Instructions
Spring 2010
For Animal Physiology, (BIOL 3408), you must complete the first module (Orientation to Laboratory Safety-EOS-OLS), and only the first module with a minimum score of 80% before the 20th class day or you will be dropped from the lab.Go to the TAMUK main page. http://www.tamuk.edu/
Click on Blackboard http://tamuk.elearning.blackboard.com/
Then follow the Blackboard instructions to Login
Once you are logged into Blackboard, on the right side of the page find the column "My Courses".
Click on the course titled BIOL 1106 1xx 201020: BIOL Lab Safety.
This will take you to the Welcome page. To the left, find the column titled "Course Menu". To find the listing of lab safety modules, click on "Lab Safety Quizzes"This will take you to a listing of all 13 modules. For Animal Physiology, you must complete only the first module (Orientation to Laboratory Safety-EOS-OLS).
If you are registered for several labs and each one assigns the Orientation to Lab Safety you only need to complete the quiz and achieve a minimum score of 80% one time. Even if you are registered for labs in other departments they only need to complete the quiz one time.
Verify that your grades were accepted by going back to the Course Menu and clicking on "My Grades". If you want to see the answers, click on the score. If necessary, re-take the quiz by going back to Lab Safety Quizzes.If students are having technical problems with Blackboard they should contact the CIS HelpDesk at 361-593-4357.
