Congratulations Dr. Kwak!

On October 24, 2006, Dr. Jason Kwak returned to South Korea for the third time (second with Jeju Philharmonic Orchestra) to perform Franz Liszt's Piano Concerto #2 in A Major. The concert was a tremendous success as Dr. Kwak received five curtain calls. As an encore, Dr. Kwak performed for the sold out audience Liszt's transcription of Franz Schubert's Lied Litany. The Piano Department of Texas A&M-Kingsville would like to congratulate Dr. Kwak on his successful performance!

Congratulations Dr. Lee!

On July 7, 2006, A&M Kingsville's own Dr. Kyung-Ae Lee occupied her familiar Steinway bench in Jeju Island, South Korea with a performance of Chopin Concerto #1 in E Minor with the Jeju Philharmonic Orchestra. Her third appearance with the orchestra (Dr. Lee has already performed Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1 and Shostakovich Piano Concerto No. 1 with Jeju Philharmonic Orchestra) was her most anticipated concert in her hometown. Not only did she perform one of the most beloved and challenging works of all time, but she performed the concerto as the recent recipient of the Most Honorable Musician award, presented by KCTV. The Piano Department of Texas A&M-Kingsville would like to congratulate Dr. Lee on her monumental accomplishment!
